Symptoms

The symptoms of psoriasis vary depending on the type of disease, but often include:

  • Red, raised patches of skin (plaques) covered with silvery scales

  • Itching or burning in the affected areas

  • Dryness and cracking of the skin

  • Nail changes such as dents or discoloration

  • In severe cases, joint pain may occur (psoriatic arthritis)
