In contrast to a laser, which is used for laser treatments of scars or age spots, for example, “High Intensity Focused Ultrasound” (HIFU) bypasses the surface of the skin. The ultrasound against wrinkles and sagging skin penetrates directly into the patient’s deep, structural skin layers. At a depth of 1.5-4.5 mm, the bundled ultrasound is focused on areas of the skin approximately the size of a grain of rice. The HIFU ultrasound technology works from the inside out. Your skin is tightened non-invasively and is not damaged during the treatment. Only slight swelling or redness may occur immediately after the treatment. A treatment lasts 20-90 minutes, depending on the area to be treated. Each patient experiences the treatment and the associated heat development differently, but it is usually almost painless or only associated with very light and easily tolerable pricks.

How does HIFU skin tightening work?
The natural protein collagen is largely responsible for firm and elastic skin. It is produced by our own bodies. But the older we get, the less collagen our bodies produce. The result: our tissue becomes flabby, loses its contours and wrinkles appear. So if our skin lacks collagen in particular to give it a youthful appearance, wouldn't it be a good solution to help the body's own production and thus restore firmness and elasticity?

This is exactly where HIFU skin tightening comes in. The ultrasound therapy uses highly concentrated ultrasound waves that penetrate deep into the skin to stimulate targeted collagen production in the treated areas and thus tighten the skin. A slight effect is visible immediately after the treatment. However, since HIFU works with physical regeneration processes, you need to give the results a little more time: after about 3-4 months, new collagen has built up. A final result can be expected within 4-6 months. Because you have no or only slight side effects with a HIFU treatment (such as redness and slight swelling immediately after the treatment), you can go about your daily life immediately after the treatment, do sports, enjoy life and look forward to a fresh, radiant appearance in just a few months!

HIFU is basically a facelift without surgery. Of course, the non-invasive method can produce less dramatic changes than a surgical procedure. But this is precisely where the advantage lies: With a much gentler method, you can achieve very good results with the HIFU treatment - especially if your skin is only showing milder signs of aging. HIFU can achieve very good effects in reducing wrinkles and tightening contours. Light wrinkles, sagging cheeks or sagging upper eyelids can be treated early and non-surgically.
